NAGGING: SAYING THE RIGHT THING AT THE WRONG TIME

Dr. Edwin Louis Cole, author of the book “Maximized Manhood” and founder of the Christian Men’s Network makes the statement that “nagging is saying the right thing at the wrong time”. Too true! You and I both know there have been many times we wish we had kept our mouths shut, but alas, we didn’t.

The Proverbs tell us, “The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable: but the mouth of fools spouts folly.” (Pro. 15:2)

Ladies, one of our unique purposes as women is to tell, declare, make manifest, evident or reveal the hidden matter of the heart. That is why god said in Genesis 2:18, “This is not my best, I will make the man a help meet for him.” He built us for a specific purpose and part of that purpose was to speak words. My, my, what a responsibility. When you realize how much power words have, you can understand just how careful we must be with the words we speak. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, so one of our greatest needs is to seed to bring God’s grace to our mouths and to ask God to bring His wisdom to our tongues. One of my most needed prayer confessions is found in Ephesians 4:29:

“Lord, help me to let no corrupt communication proceed out of my mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”

Make it a part of your confession; you’ll be amazed at how much it will help!
