Recently it was brought to my attention that as a society we are giving strong focus to Halloween as a time of celebration and right after that we jump to Christmas. Somewhere in the shuffle we've left out a very important day ... that of "THANKSGIVING." The Bible says that we enter into God's gates with thanksgiving in our hearts and into His courts with praise.
If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, the Amplified Bible says you are called to be ... "a purchased, special people ... that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him..."
We as the people of God are the ones who will tell the world how WONDERFUL our God is. We are the ones to brag on Him. No one else will do it. We must do it. Actually, our praise will come out as a natural overflow of our time spent with Him.
Let's determine together not to let the spirit of this world steal our thanksgiving and praise to God that each of us will do our part wherever we are to speak highly of Him and His works. After all ... that is one of our original callings.
