Thank You for Being Worthy

One day while in prayer, this kept going on in my mind; "worthy... worthy art Thou, O Lord." It just kept going over and over in my thinking. So, I finally stopped what I was doing, got out my trusty concordance and looked up the word "worthy." I found it in a scripture in Revelation 4:11. The scripture is speaking of Jesus and says:

"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power:"

Being the curious person that I am, I continued on to dissect this word "worthy." I found that it can also mean: fitting, appropriate, or in keeping with. This was exciting to me as I remembered the time when Jesus came to John the Baptist to be baptized by him and John's response was:

"I have need to be baptized by You, and You come to me?"

Jesus reassured John with this statement:

"Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness."

There it is ... a perfect example of one of the reasons Jesus is worthy to receive glory and honor and power. He's willing to submit, even to another man's ministry if that's what it takes, to fulfill all righteousness and bring forth the will of the Father.

Think about it. Jesus submitted Himself to John to be baptized... He submitted Himself to His disciples and washed their feet and... He submitted Himself to God's plan for His life, even unto death!

Wow!!! What a Savior!!! Thank You Jesus!!!
