Everyday, I am so grateful for my salvation ... and in awe of the great work accomplished through the Cross of Jesus Christ. As a teacher of the Word of God, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to learn from God. The Cross purchased that for us also, you know.
There are laws God has put to work in the universe and after becoming Christians, the Holy Spirit goes to work ... if we'll let Him. To teach us and lead us into all truth. He will begin to teach us about the power in our tongue for instance, that out of the abundance of our heart our mouth will speak, by our words we will be justified and by our words we will be condemned.
Jesus put it this way in Matthew 12:
"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned."
Idle words are words that are lazy, useless, inactive, unemployed, barren or slow.
The Bible says that the Word of God is quick and powerful and that God sent it to heal us. If that is the case, then I want to stick with speaking God's Word. At least it will be producing what it says and I won't be wasting my breath on all those useless inactive words.
